English Women Prefer Girly-Men

It's official, sort of. A Survey between New Mexico State University and the University of Kent has found a difference between the English (and, presumable, other Europeans) and Americans. American women prefer masculine men, whereas English women want girly men. You've gotta wonder if this explains more questions than it begs, or vice-versa.

Chinese selling organs of the executed

It's been well known for quite some time (20 years or so) that the Chinese have been "harvesting" skin from executed prisoners (and, worse, the "partially executed") for use in skin-grafts and the like. Apparently things have now gotten much worse. For all the hue and cry over executions in this country, at least we fail to live up to obligations we attempt (we really do at least try to get everyone a fair trial, even if we don't succeed); in a country where there is no rule of law and plenty of profit to be made from a fresh corpse, political inconvenience is fatal. By comparison, it almost makes it sound safe to be a dissident in Lagos.
