I realize this is a comic, but perhaps this sort of thing explains why I never under any circumstances want to have anything to do with Kansas again. Much to my chagrin I was born there and lived there for 14 years. Eastern Oklahoma was a _far_ more pleasant experience.
I heard an interview on the radio in which the microbiologist being interviewed said that she never says where she's from, because when people learn she's from Kansas she has to work "uphill" to get her work taken seriously.
