As a photographer, I have to cringe that y'all are calling for a re-media-tion of my picture. Is it cheapened by being pixels? Can *you* do that w/ a crappy digizoom? WTF, over?
Well, let me rephrase this. It's crying to be made very large and put in a frame on a wall. If your lens will allow that without losing image quality, then AWESOME.
I was gonna ask if I could paint it because it is so pretty, but, upon reading comments, I think I have changed my mind. ;)
It is a very nice, well done photograph. Very pretty. And that is where I am leaving it as I refuse to get into a "and the lighting is..." technical critic of what a nice photograph this is. :D
Well, the lighting could be better, that's true. But it wasn't planned at all: I just saw Photon's "attack" and grabbed the camera. Nothing but the house lights on, ISO 1600. As much as I like film, the pic wouldn't exist without the "what film do I wish I had loaded right this instant?" capabilities of the digital camera; Maddie thinks I'll end up going digital soon. She might be right. :)
um...I think you misunderstood. Or else I just suck at wording (which is entirely possible) I like the lighting, it makes for a very soft, almost Romantic period quality that actually fits Maddie's features really well. It reminds me very much of works done by the master painters. I don't know if that was the look you were going for or not, but, seeings as how you are a photographer, even your sudden snap shots are generally going to put other people's best efforts to shame, so, all in all, even if it isn't exactly what you wanted it is still very nice. :) I like, thumbs up.
In fact, I may paint it anyway and just not tell you about it. :P
(Maddie thinks y'all's response is really nice of y'all.)
I'll be more than happy to point a lens or three at you, so you'll either stop being camera-shy either because you like the results or else because you've spent too much time in front of the lens to sustain the hatred. :)
P.S. Maddie said "you could do some very nice 'girl with a pearl earring' stuff with Audie."

the consolations of her soft kitty?
Wow...now that's screaming for a painting indeed...
Yeah, I thinking of "Cat and Mattress that Thinks", or we could just be simple and call it "The Lucky Cat". Or maybe "Cat 2, Books 0".
I WAS thinking. Damn, I need to proof-read before I publish my comments.
How about "Nice Pussy"?
I think I prefer "Cat 2, Wife 0".
You could always run with "Recent studies have concluded that housecats benefit from a heated mattress."
and yeah, this one screeeeeeches for a painting.

No, not my little belt camera. It needs to be a painting. :)

Thanks; yep, I saw it and immediatly thought of Vermeer -- that was exactly what I was going for.
Yup, especially with the way the reds came out and the softness of the lines. It is a great photograph.
See, if I had photos of me like this maybe I wouldn't hate people pointing cameras at me so much. :P
