Political Despair

With Lady Macbeth fresh off her "win" in Florida (a classic Clintonian "obey the letter while betraying the spirit" maneuver), and as earnestly campaigning to have their disqualified delegates seated for her as she was campaigning to keep casino's union workers out of the primary in Nevada and CA with its huge delegate count leaning towards her, I fear she'll get the nod. Especially because baby-boomers don't trust anyone under 50 (irony, anyone?) and there're so many of them.

If she gets the nod and if McCain gets the nod (looking more and more likely), then we're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, with six of one versus a half-dozen of the other. If we elect McCain, it'll be another season of Republicans falling into lock-step with a liberal white-house. If we elect Lady Macbeth, the continual stream of petty outrages emanating from the white-house will allow '94 all over again and the Republicans will never get their coalition back... Urg. Normally I don't vote for someone, but at least I can pick someone to vote AGAINST.

Do the calculus, people -- vote for Othello!

Screw you; I'm voting for Kang.

:o)

Sadly, he only has six delegates so far. I'd vote for him in a heartbeat if he got the nod. Otherwise....

I dunno... it's looking like we're going to get a brokered convention. Only the first vote is mandated by many states - after that the delegates get whoever they can put at 51%!

Feh. Kodos is clearly the better candidate.

Seriously, I'm with you Jim, but for me the choice is much easier if its Clinton vs. McCain. It's McCain easily.

I don't think I remember a time when Congress fell into lock step with the White House. Even when the same party has both there's a struggle for power that leads to petty sniping, if nothing else...

I don't know who Kodos would represent in this election. All Kang's copy is being written by Lew Rockwell, but his campaigning is terrible.

I'm actually worried about a brokered convention -- given the Clintons' machine, I suspect anything but an outright win by Obama means it'll be Lady Macbeth.

Where's Barry Goldwater when you need him?

Going down in flames, just like Kang.

I've changed my mind (based on the past few days' articles: McCain would be ok, but certainly not Huckabee or Romney.
